Meet the owner

Miss Jenn

Jenn was born and raised in South Carolina, but for the past 30 years Utah has been home, especially Davis County. After earning her college degree in legal assisting, she spent several years building a career in the corporate world. When she and her husband started their own family, Jenn decided to step away from that path and become a stay-at-home mom, a choice that would eventually lead her somewhere she never expected.

Her own children were enrolled at Apple Tree Schoolhouse, which at the time was run by a neighbor and close friend. What started as simply dropping her kids off each day turned into something much bigger: Jenn began working part-time at the preschool, and it didn't take long for her to discover a deep, genuine love for early childhood education. Over the next 20 years, she poured her heart into that work, building relationships with hundreds of children and developing a rare gift for connecting with them by understanding not just how they learn, but how they feel.

In 2019, Jenn was given the opportunity to purchase Apple Tree Schoolhouse and become its owner. She didn't hesitate. It was a chance to carry forward everything she had learned and loved over two decades, and to shape a place where children could truly thrive.

Miss Jenn, owner of Apple Tree Schoolhouse

At the heart of Jenn's philosophy is this simple but powerful belief. She's seen, time and again, that kids respond to teaching and truly flourish once that foundation of trust is in place. Walk into Apple Tree Schoolhouse and you'll see this philosophy in action. Jenn has a way of making every child feel seen, valued, and secure, and it shows in the way they light up around her.

Outside of the preschool, Jenn is a proud mother of five and grandmother to three grandchildren, who are without question the pride and joy of her life. She loves nothing more than spoiling her grandkids and soaking up every moment with them. When she gets the chance to slow down, you'll likely find her dreaming of the beach or actually there. There's nothing Jenn loves more than the sound of waves crashing and the feel of salty ocean air, and it's no surprise that most of her family vacations find a way to include the coast.

Jenn's warmth, experience, and heart for children are the foundation of Apple Tree Schoolhouse, and every family who walks through the door gets to experience firsthand why she's exactly where she's meant to be.

Our classroom

Our classroom is designed to be a community of learners where every child is encouraged to consider and contribute to the well-being and learning of their peers.

We teach children to respect and acknowledge the differences in abilities and talents of each other, and to value their peers for their unique strengths. Our goal is a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Our curriculum

We pride ourselves on offering a developmentally appropriate and well-rounded curriculum that addresses the physical, emotional, social, and academic needs of every child. Our daily routine includes a variety of creative and hands-on learning experiences that are both dynamic and fun. Our units of study evolve continuously and are tailored to the interests and needs of each school year — because meaningful, firsthand learning is at the heart of a successful preschool education.
